Salomé’s professional journey includes positions at Renault, Mazda, and Kia. In 2007, he joined Bugatti Automobiles, where he served as Head of Interior Design and Assistant Chief Designer. His contributions over more than a decade have been pivotal in shaping the brand’s design language.

Notably, Salomé was instrumental in designing the interiors of the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo and the Bugatti Chiron, unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt and 2016 Geneva Motor Shows, respectively. He also led the design of the Bugatti "La Voiture Noire", a one-off model inspired by the Type 57 SC Atlantic, which debuted at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and became the world’s most expensive new car at €16.7 million.

Etienne Salomé founded his own design studio in the heart of Berlin in 2019, creating a dynamic creative hub. While the studio is rooted in automotive design, its scope extends to yachts, products, interiors, architecture, and graphic design. Collaborating with a vast network of experts, Salomé Design delivers tailored, visionary solutions across disciplines.

Beyond automotive design, Salomé is an accomplished artist and sculptor. His works often explore themes of speed and motion, utilizing mediums such as aluminum sculptures and layered photographic images. His “chronophotographs,” for instance, superimpose multiple images to capture dynamic movement. Salomé’s art has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris, Stuttgart, Milan, Antwerp, and Geneva.

Born on 20 September 1980 in Paris, Salomé pursued industrial design studies in Paris before earning a
Master’s degree in Transport Design from the Royal College of Art in London in 2005.
